The students prepared some questions to ask the others and send them by internal messaging through our learnig platform. Then, they would receive th answers and they personally would do the same. After that process, they would have to write a report talking about similarities and differences. And they found out that teenagers are quite similar all over the place: similar interests, similar habits, going out with friends at weekends, using computers all the time, etc... But, there were some differences like: Norwegians have lunch at 11am, while Spanish have it at 3pm.

  • These are some of the questions that they prepared to find out about personal information:
1) How old are you?
2) What are your hobbies?
3) Where do you live?
4) What time do you start school and how many hours do you spend there?
5) What time do you have to get up for scho
6) At what time do you normally go to bed?
7) How often do you use your computer or the internet?
8) Do you use any social networks like Twenty and msn?
9) Are you allowed to go out on weekends?
10) What time do you have to come back?

  • These are the answers from one of the girls:
"My name is Eirin and I’m a . I have to brothers and two sisters. I’m 15 years old and my mother, language is Norwegian. I live in a house now, but we are moving to a flat soon. I live in a village. I live near the mountains and its really cold right now because its winter to weeks ago the temperature here was around 7- . My favorite hobby is horse riding and drawing/Painting. On my free time I really like being in the stable with the horses.
I usually get up around 6 AM and then I take the bus to school that start 8.20 AM and ends 14.00 PM. I don’t do a lot off school work, but we don’t get to many home works so I guess a hour each day is enough. My favorite subject is gymnastics and art. I usually sit on the internet around 4hours every day…but I see a lot of movies on the internet. I don’t watch a lot of TV because I see most of my favorite series on the internet. In are friend group we are around 5 people. I’m allowed to go out on the weekends but my mom always wants to know where I go and I have to be back before midnight. I meet my friends at school or in a teenage club nearby where I live. Or we just meet at our houses and watch a movie or something like that.
In Norway you have to be 18 years old to drink alcohol and 21 to drink liquor. I have friends that smoke but I don’t do that ^^

So how is it where you live? It’s your life different from mine or do we have something in common?

  • As a class, we also asked them to report on the process in case some of them had not received any answers, etc.... The thing is some of the pupils had not access to the computer room on a weekly basis and of course, some others might be a bit lazy. But they were very MOTIVATED in general. And also, they had to report with conclusions.
